Divya's Wedding Story
An ivory and antique-gold ensemble created around a traditional Telugu ceremony.
Divya came to us eleven months before her muhurtham with a photograph of her grandmother’s wedding ensemble and one instruction: it should look like it had always belonged to her family. We wove the ivory to order, matched the antique gold to the original border, and cut the blouse close so the whole piece stayed traditional without feeling borrowed.
Designer’s notes
The border was the whole commission. Once the korvai matched the photograph, everything else followed — a plain body, no surface work, and a blouse that stayed out of the way.
